The annual National Zoo of the Americas has become a hot topic in recent weeks after a report surfaced saying it has the highest death rate in the world, surpassing all other zoos.
The zoo has come under fire for its handling of an outbreak of coronavirus, which has killed about 3,000 people.
The report was written by the World Health Organization and was commissioned by the zoo’s president, Richard Franklin.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also has criticized the zoo for its work with Ebola.
The death rate at the zoo is highest in Mexico and Guatemala, according to the report.
But it is also among the highest in the U.K., France and Germany, the report said.
The American Society of Animal Practitioners has called for a review of the report and its findings.
The society said the report should be scrapped because of “serious inaccuracies and omissions.”
A spokeswoman for the society, Sarah Lacy, said the organization has not yet seen the report, but is working with zoo officials to review its findings and conduct further research.
“The National Zoo is a vibrant and welcoming place for all, with hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and is an iconic symbol of American culture,” the zoo said in a statement.
“As the world’s largest zoo, the National Zoo has an opportunity to demonstrate that animals, and the animals in the zoo, have equal dignity and deserve respect.
The National Zoo does not discriminate based on race, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, or protected veteran status.”
An AP reporter, Peter Holley, who visited the zoo on Monday, found the death rate for zoo workers at the end of April to be 10 percent higher than other American zoos, including the Chicago Cubs and Miami Dolphins.
He said the zoo has an “unfairly high death rate” because its staff is poorly trained and has “not done enough to address the pandemic.”
He also noted that zoo workers have had to endure harassment, including being yelled at and being told they are “waste of time.”
The zoo’s report, titled “Treatment and Health Care for Workers at the National Zoological Park,” says that the zoo relies on contractors to provide services for the pandemics and has paid about $1.2 billion to date to those contractors, and that it has been forced to hire additional staff members.
It also says that zoo staff are allowed to have an abortion but must report to a physician immediately if they choose not to terminate a pregnancy.
It says it has also tried to improve the health of its employees.
The report said that “a combination of inadequate training, poor management, inadequate communication and poor communication about health care options, including contraception, lead to many employees becoming pregnant while in quarantine.”
There are currently no confirmed cases of Ebola in the United States, and none have been confirmed in the wild.
The CDC is advising Americans to avoid close contact with people who are sick, such as those who work in hospitals or in nursing homes.
