A Texas bear was arrested on Monday after it attacked a man and killed his wife after a dog bit his face and neck.
The bear, which is a medium-sized female, was found near the Texas-Mexico border in the town of Lad, about 90 miles north of Austin.
The man, John Doe, was not hurt.
A local news station said the bear had attacked a group of people after their dog bit their hands.
The station said a dog owner reported the attack to police, who arrived on the scene to find the bear with a bite mark on her right hand.
The Associated Press reported that the man and his wife were staying at the hotel where the attack occurred.
The AP said the woman had been bitten in the arm by a dog and that the bear bit her head as she was eating dinner with her family.
