Petting zoo will open in Denver’s Prospect Park Zoo

Denver’s petting zoo has announced plans to open next summer.

The zoo in Prospect Park is set to open its doors to visitors on July 14.

Owner Chris Kupfer said he plans to have over 30 animals and has plans to expand it to 30,000 square feet, adding that he has been wanting to open for a while.

Kupfer’s petted zoo will have its first exhibition of its kind, featuring animals from over 40 species including cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, reptiles, birds and more.

The opening of the zoo is one of the biggest in Denver, with the Denver Zoo and PetSmart, the largest pet store in the country, opening a new exhibit at the zoo in 2016.
